OSHA Creates Enforcement Initiatives to Protect Engineered Stone Workers
October 3, 2023Webinar on OSHA’s Enforcement Initiative for Engineered Stone Fabrication and Installation Industries
December 12, 2023On Thursday, the CAL-OSHA standards vote is set to vote on an emergency standard for engineered stone fabrication. This is a good first step towards protecting workers, but it does not go far enough. For Brayton Purcell LLP clients, such as Jorge Estrella Moreno, Wendy Solano, Leobardo Segura-Meza, and many others, it is too little too late. Furthermore, the standard unfairly puts the blame on the fabrication shop owners rather than the engineered stone manufacturers. The manufacturers know that 99% of fabrication shops cannot afford the several million dollars that it takes to prevent silicosis in fabrication workers, they sell their deadly product anyway to fabrication shops. Engineered stone should be banned.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with silicosis, contact us today. You could be entitled to compensation.
