Current Openings
Job Title: Paralegal
Job Purpose: Manages an assigned caseload and performs various tasks from pretrial through trial and case resolution under the supervision and direction of Partners, Attorneys, Managers and Supervisors.
Essential Function:
• Manage a caseload of Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases from intake through trial and case resolution in various jurisdictions.
• Discuss fee contract and case flow procedure with clients.
• Conduct phone interviews and produce clear and concise written notes.
• Responsible for tracking and meeting all deadlines both in house and according to Code of Civil Procedure, Court Local Rules and court deadlines.
• Order and/or subpoena various records and items as needed including medical records, billing records, economic loss records, pathology, films, and employment records.
• Prepares and reviews various documents, including letters, pleadings such as complaints, DOE Amendments, 998 Offer to Compromise, Case Management statements etc. Works closely with case attorneys and documents and case issues.
• Perform eservice and efiling.
• Works with Deposition Coordinator to set depositions.
• Prepares cases for Trial Setting Conference, Case Management Conference, and preference motions.
• Conduct in-depth file reviews and follow-up on partner, manager or supervisor directives and incomplete tasks to ensure trial readiness of cases.
• Prepare various documents, records and items needed for trial, including witness/expert disclosure, witness and exhibit lists, trial exhibits and equipment. Prepare plaintiff experts and clients for deposition and trial testimony.
• Perform Order to Show Cause (OSC) reviews.
• Maintain and update internal case management system.
• Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
• Research and gather information on clients and decedents.
• Use standard office tools.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and gain experience and skills.
• Interacts with employees from different departments, including attorneys, managers, paralegals, supervisors, and administrative assistants. Regular interaction with persons visa telephone and email.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
Bachelor’s degree or Para Certificate.
2. Minimum Experience required: One year of office experience/prefer prior law firm experience.
3. Skills Required: Excellent computer skills in WordPerfect, Excel, Word, Adobe and other programs. Ability to speak, write and read English at a college level. Typing speed of 45 WPM. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work under tight deadlines. Ability to handle high volume of work and multitask. Bilingual – English/Spanish.
Financial Responsibility and Authority:
1. Equipment: General Office.
2. Financial: Errors can cost the clients money and delay getting settlements.
3. Internal and External Business Contacts: Interacts with employees from different departments, including case clerks, paralegals, supervisors, attorneys and managers. May interact with defense counsel and Court personnel.
Salary Range: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour DOE
Job Title: CR Processor – Bilingual English/Spanish
Job Summary:
Active Defendants: Create Compromise and Release (CR) from one of the Firm’s boiler releases or use one provided by defendant, making appropriate adjustments if Active LHWCA case exists. Send to client either by DocuSign or mail. Review returned release for complete execution by client. Add Request for Dismissal, Form B relating to exposure/medical information, non-Medicare eligibility form and Successor-In-Interest declaration (or any appropriate documents relating to deceased injured party when appropriate) and send to defendant. Update firms internal logging for entire process. Calls to clients are needed when the document has not been returned or to answer specific questions regarding release or Medicare eligibility.
Bankrupt Defendants: The majority of these releases are received from defendants. Make appropriate adjustments if Active LHWCA (Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act) case exists. Send to client either by DocuSign or mail. Review returned release for complete execution by client. Upload the majority of the fully executed releases to the Trust website and mail others where appropriate. Update firms internal logging for entire process. Calls to clients are needed when the document has not returned or to answer specific questions regarding release.
Requirement: Must be fluent in Spanish and be able to translate document for explanation to client and answer questions from clients. Must be comfortable speaking to clients on the phone. Highly detailed oriented and able to multi-task.
Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour DOE
