Brayton Purcell’s Jerry Peters selected as Novato Citizen of the Year

Civic engagement is not taken lightly by Brayton Purcell’s Jerry Peters. As the tireless facilities manager that keeps Brayton Purcell’s office buildings and grounds in Novato and three other western cities operating around the clock, Mr. Peters finds time in his busy schedule to give back as a volunteer in the City of Novato. So much so, that Mr. Peters was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award at Novato’s “Paint the Town Red” Birthday Bash, on Saturday, January 26th.

A great ambassador in the realm of community service, Mr. Peters echoes the values projected by Brayton Purcell as an organization. His accomplishments include serving as a City of Novato Planning Commissioner, the president of the Novato Chamber of Commerce and having served on its Board of Directors for 13 years. He is involved in the Chamber’s Leadership Novato Program and has played a critical roll in the Novato 4th of July Parade, now in its 16th year. He was also a part of the Downtown Novato Revitalization Committee, the Downtown Specific Plan Committee, Novato Park & Rec Girls Basketball, and many other activities. Mr. Peters has supported a number of local initiatives, ranging from saving the old Northwestern Pacific Railroad Depot, working for the SMART train, and advocated for Measure A, the successful Transportation Improvement ballot item in 2004.

“Novato is a wonderful community with a true small-town feel,” states Jerry. “It is a great place to live in, to work in, and certainly to raise kids in. I have to give great credit to Al Brayton for the great support he has given me and the many other Brayton Purcell staffers on the many community activities our firm is involved in. He makes a difference, so we can make a difference.”
