Many different trades require work lights. Whether you are an auto mechanic under the hood of a car or a construction worker building a windowless room, work lights are necessary tools for any trade. With the introduction of LED technology, many workers are happy to “go green,” and save time and money in their work. But being environmentally-conscious isn’t always easy, especially when it can end up hurting you in the end!Recently, about 15,000 Clamp-On LED Work Lights manufactured by Ace Hardware were recalled as they were described to present a shock and fire hazard to users. “The cord bushing inside the light base could fail, allowing the cord wiring to pull out of the base, exposing bare wire” that could harm individuals. No injuries have been reported, but Ace has recalled the units in efforts to prevent shocks and potential fires. If you have purchased a Clamp-On LED Work Light from Ace Hardware, you should stop using it immediately and return the device to your local retail store. A full refund will be issued.
