Gilbert Purcell Selected as Northern California Top 100 Super Lawyer July 19, 2017, Novato, CA – Senior trial attorney and Brayton Purcell LLP partner Gilbert Purcell has been ranked as one of Northern California’s 2017 Top 100 Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers is a rating service that selects its attorneys using a multiphase process, which includes peer nominations and professional achievements. Of the approximate 190,000 active attorneys in California, only a select few are chosen as Super Lawyers. Purcell has been selected as a Super Lawyer each year since 2004.
When asked about his ranking, Purcell stated, “It is an honor to be selected by peers to be listed alongside so many of the current greats in trial advocacy.” Purcell has been representing victims of asbestos exposure for more than 30 years, and he is widely regarded as the premier asbestos trial lawyer. He has been more successful in obtaining verdicts for asbestos-related cases than any other attorney, and his trials span California, Washington, Oregon, and Utah. Some of the largest verdicts for victims of asbestos-related diseases in these states were achieved by Purcell’s efforts as a trial attorney.
When Purcell is not in trial, he spends some of his time presenting lectures on substantial factor causation in asbestos litigation at forums, conferences, and seminars. He also shares his experience with aspiring, young attorneys by lecturing on trial practice at law schools throughout California. While it is clear that law is one of Purcell’s passions, he is also an active animal advocate.
