As we mentioned in Monday’s blog post, the Navy’s birthday is approaching this weekend! October 13th, 2013 marks two hundred and thirty-eight years of U.S. Naval Defense and will be celebrated with a grand ball. During this celebration, we work hard to recognize all of those who have fought for our country at sea, as well as to bring awareness for those losing their lives today due to their exposure to asbestos during their time of service.
It may come as a surprise to learn that our soldiers at sea were battling asbestos exposure as well as our nations’ enemies while on duty. Let’s take a look at our newest infographic to see how asbestos has affected our Navy veterans:
