Brayton Purcell Receives Community Service Award
January 15, 2008: Novato, California — The asbestos attorney firm of Brayton Purcell was honored out of all of the businesses in Marin County, California, with the 2007 Heart of Marin Award for Excellence in Corporate Community Service. According to Linda Davis of the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership, the award is “presented to a business that has fostered and encouraged volunteerism and philanthropy to its employees.”

Founding partner Alan Brayton received the award on behalf of the attorney firm. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Brayton gave credit for the award to his staff of over 300 employees. “The real credit goes to our employees whose efforts support the activities of the firm in volunteerism and fundraising for charitable organizations.” Mr. Brayton also commended the many organizations who do the work of helping those in need.
600 People, 150 Agencies Attended Awards Luncheon
Over 600 people representing more than 150 nonprofit agencies attended the Heart of Marin Awards luncheon which was held at the Marin Civic Center on January 10th. The event was emceed by popular radio and television film critic, Jan Wahl.
Brayton Purcell Actively Supports Charitable Causes
Brayton Purcell has made it a practice to support both local and national causes. Some of the groups that we actively support are the Public Justice Foundation, the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, Legal Aid of Marin, the North Bay Children’s Center and the Novato Human Needs Center. We have sponsored events such as Labor Day at the Lake, A Night in Tuscany (North Bay Children’s Center), Bike for Breath (American Lung Association), Blow the Whistle on Asthma (American Lung Association), Stepping Out to Celebrate Life (Breast Cancer Foundation), Bowl for Kids’ Sake (Big Brothers, Big Sisters) and the Marin Valentine’s Ball (various organizations).
