Sarah Kraemer Isaacs

Ms. Isaacs attended University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She first became interested in practicing law during a college internship with the American Civil Liberties Union, where, in cooperation with the NAACP, she assisted in a class action against Pittsburgh police for alleged brutality and misconduct. After graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Women’s Studies Certificate, she went on to serve in AmeriCorps for two years in Tucson, Arizona. In AmeriCorps, she worked with survivors of sexual assault and relationship violence and went on to become a LeaderCorps Coach for the Arizona Governor’s Division on Volunteerism.
Ms. Isaacs then attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California. While in law school, Ms. Isaacs externed for Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. She also worked for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, and for Golden Gate University’s Women’s Employment Rights, Environmental Law and Justice clinics and participated in the Honors Lawyering Program. In 2002, she received her Juris Doctor degree, earning a certificate for Public Interest Specialization. She also earned the Paul S. Jordan Achievement Award for Outstanding Student Contribution, the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence in Public Interest Law, and a scholarship from the Foundation of the State Bar of California.
Ms. Isaacs has worked in many areas of plaintiff–side civil litigation including disability access law, civil rights, toxic torts, the Endangered Species and American Indian Religious Freedom Acts, as well as immigration and asylum law. She joined Brayton Purcell in July of 2004, and her current practice consists primarily of asbestos litigation. She is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, the Public Justice Foundation and the American Association for Justice and Equality California.
Ms. Isaacs enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. Her interests include theater, art projects, hiking, reading, dancing, singing and playing with her cat.
